We use goals to measure conversions on all our biggest sites. A common goal for one our sites is to have the user reach the “thank you for subscribing” page – which means we've converted that visitor into a subscriber. Using goals in Google Analytics we are able to determine their path in getting to that page.. Was it from a blog post, a banner ad, etc. This allows us to figure out which marketing technique is working the best – and which to optimize.
